Our coffee loyalty offer is changing


We’re installing a new point of sale system as part of our transition from Coles Express to Reddy Express. While this is happening, we’ve had to make a temporary change to how Flybuys members receive their 6th free coffee after purchasing 5 coffees and scanning their Flybuys in store. 

 

What’s changing?


Currently, when you scan your Flybuys and purchase 5 coffees at any Coles Express and Reddy Express store, you automatically receive your 6th coffee free of charge. From 9 October 2024, you won’t be able to redeem your free 6th coffee by scanning your Flybuys. Instead, we will send you an email (if we have your email), with a free coffee barcode, soon after you’ve made your 5th coffee purchase. To redeem your free coffee, simply scan the barcode at Coles Express or Reddy Express with your next coffee purchase. 

 

What’s not changing?


The way you earn coffee credits will remain the same. You should continue to scan your Flybuys with each coffee purchase and, after purchasing 5 coffees, your 6th coffee will still be free (only delivered differently). This process change is temporary, and we anticipate the process of issuing your free coffee automatically when you scan your Flybuys will return during 2025. We’ll keep you updated. 

 

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why have my coffee credits disappeared? 

It’s a temporary measure while a new point of sale system is being installed across our network. While this is happening, you won’t be able to view your coffee credit balance when you log in to your Flybuys account. But don’t worry, your credits are still being captured by the existing and new systems.  

2. How do I find my coffee credits balance? 

Coles Express and Reddy Express have worked on a temporary way for you to see your coffee credits The current coffee credit balance will be included in any emails to Flybuys members regarding the coffee loyalty program sent from Shell Australia.  

3. How do I redeem my free coffee? 

A coffee barcode for a free 6th cup, will be emailed from "Shell Australia noreply@email.vivaenergy.com.au" to eligible Flybuys members where we have your email details. You can redeem your free coffee by scanning the barcode from the email at the point of sale in-store at Coles Express or Reddy Express with your next coffee purchase. 

4. How long between purchasing my 5th coffee & receiving a free coffee barcode via email?  

Generally, it will be the next business day. 

 5. If I buy 4 coffees, and a household member buys the 5th, who does the coffee credit get sent to?  

The coffee counter operates at a household level. All coffees are counted for the household, and when 5 have been purchased across all household members, a free coffee barcode is emailed to a member of the household. We send to the longest standing active cardholder for the household that has a deliverable email address that is not unsubscribed. Generally, this will be the primary cardholder. But in some cases where the primary cardholder is not contactable, it will go to another household member. 

6. Why haven’t I received my free coffee barcode email? 

The 6th free coffee is currently being delivered via a barcode that is emailed from Shell Australia - noreply@email.vivaenergy.com.au to eligible Flybuys members where we have your email details. 

There are various reasons why you may not have received your free coffee barcode:

Your email may not be valid, or the coffee barcode email may have bounced  

 

  • Check your email by logging into your Flybuys account and update if necessary. 
  • Check that your inbox is not full as this can cause incoming emails to bounce 
  • Check your junk or spam folder and add to your safe sender list to avoid the same happening with future barcode emails 

If you have opted out of Flybuys sharing your details with Reddy Express 

 

You have the following options: 

1.You can change your Flybuys partner email sharing preference for Reddy Express by logging in to your Flybuys account and then go to: 

  • Account Details;  
  • Communication Preferences; 
  • Partner email sharing; 
  • Select ‘Reddy Express’.  

Once you’re eligible, you will then be emailed a barcode for your free 6th coffee.  

 

2. You can share your email directly with Reddy Express for the purpose of receiving coffee barcodes and updates regarding the coffee offer at https://www.reddyexpress.com.au/contact  

  • Click the ‘Chat with us’ button 
  • Click ‘Coffee Loyalty Offer’ which will take you through the available options.

3. If you don’t want to share your email with Reddy Express, you will still collect coffee credits on eligible purchases but Reddy Express won’t be able to email the free 6th coffee barcode to you as you earn it. Once the temporary change is completed, you will be able to redeem any free coffee/s you have accrued during the temporary change by scanning your Flybuys at Reddy Express or Coles Express.
